Are you a current college student or recent grad with an interest in a legal career? This is a great part-time opportunity to get a feel for a law office and add some real work experience to your resume.

Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP is seeking an enthusiastic candidate to work in a part-time Receptionist role in our Evanston office. Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, highly teachable, and have strong interpersonal skills. Recent college graduates and current college students are encouraged to apply!

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Candidate must be able to report in-person to our downtown Evanston office, likely 20-30 hours per week. We would like someone who can report to the office each afternoon (4-5 days a week) to help with various end-of-day tasks to ensure the office is ready to go for the next day. This role would help answer phones and direct calls, run various errands, such as picking up office supplies, parking passes, or lunch for the team, as well as keeping the office organized, tidy, and running smoothly by helping with various administrative tasks. Candidate should be willing to help with any tasks, large or small, from scanning or typing documents to tidying offices and gathering dirty dishes at the end of the day and unloading dishwasher when clean.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to provide a high level of professionalism and positive attitude.
  • High-quality level of customer service, professionalism, and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
  • Be comfortable answering and directing phone calls from clients, agencies, vendors, and other professionals, including attorneys and legal support staff in our other offices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook and Word; Excel knowledge a plus, but not required.
