Job Description

Summary of Position

A master’s degree in sociology. Must be able to teach a range of sociology courses, e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Minority Groups, Social Problems, Applied Sociology, and Sociological Theory.

Position Information

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.


Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Minimum Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in sociology. Must be able to teach standard general education courses, e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Minority Groups, Social Problems, etc. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience.
