The PA Education Association (PAEA) is looking for you: a creative, driven professional to join our team as a part-time Accounts Payable Clerk. This position will work 22.5 hours/week and the schedule can be determined with the position’s manager.
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing all the Association’s accounts payable functions. As a key member of our Finance Team, this position ensures that all invoices are verified and paid in a timely manner, oversees the Association’s expense report system, and works across the organization and with our members providing a high level of both internal and external customer service.
This position may be exposed to sensitive and confidential information daily, this individual is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality that knowledge of such warrants. In this position, employees must respect and protect the privacy, confidentiality, and security of all personal information to which they have access in the performance of their duties for PAEA, in accordance with PAEA’s Privacy Policy and the PAEA Employee Handbook that all employees must sign.
Specific Responsibilities:
Completes payments by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, honorariums, awards, and scholarships 
Processes expense reimbursement requests for all employees, board members, volunteers, consultants, and fellows 
Oversees the Association’s credit card account: to include setting-up new accounts, closing accounts, and assisting with fraud investigations 
Reconciles employee monthly credit card reports against monthly Association credit card statements: to include reviewing backup documentation and verifying and/or correcting coding on all reports
Maintains vendor W9 files and supports 1099 reporting
Resolves vendor discrepancies and answers vendor inquiries
Maintains organizational wide database of financial contracts  
Assists in various month-end close activities: to include collection of staff labor allocations, review of general ledger, and investigating expiring payments 
Supports annual audit requests
Serves as a backup and cross trains with Accounts Receivable Clerk

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
3 years of experience with accounts payable or general accounting 
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks 
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus 
Experience with Sage Intacct accounting and Nexonia
ADA Specifications
The ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) as well as to occasionally move about the office.  
Proficiency in operating office equipment, such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone.  
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.  
Travel Requirements
Periodic travel will be required for this role to all-staff meetings, PAEA events, and/or professional development opportunities.

Work Environment & Benefits
This position can be performed in a fully remote location within the United States and will require occasional travel. The individual in this position must be authorized to work in the United States.
This is a part-time position for 22.5 hours / week paid hourly. PAEA’s working hours are 7.5/day and this position can be done 3 days/week or spread out over the 5-day workweek. The salary range for this position is $28.00-33.00/hour. The benefits package include monthly wellness stipend, a 403(b)-retirement plan with an 8% employer contribution, pro-rated PTO accrual and holidays, professional development funding and tuition assistance. This position is not eligible for health insurance benefits.
