REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree or higher

BASIC FUNCTIONS

To provide supplementary instruction in reading, language arts and/or mathematics in a tutorial setting, for students identified as Multilingual Learners (MLLs) as appropriate. Position is part-time

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Tutors work under the direction of a certified staff member. Their instruction is based upon district curriculum and diagnosis and planning of the certified staff member(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implement students goals and objectives as in accordance with level of language acquisition

  2. Utilize appropriate instructional materials

  3. Provide instruction and support to students assigned

  4. Progress monitor student performance

  5. Assist with assessments (classroom and districtwide)

  6. Communicate progress to classroom teacher/special education case manager

  7. Other duties as assigned by district MLL Coordinator and/or building principal
