Job Summary

Under general direction of the Operations Engineering Manager the Manufacturing Engineering shall provide primary manufacturing/assembly expertise and document existing and new products/procedures. The primary function will be to support production (Internal and external), production control and purchasing in the daily activities of producing the product as well as working with the engineers and designers, ensuring the product has been documented appropriately for production. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be the primary manufacturing driver of implementing new products or in-sourcing products into production, including the support/design of manufacturing fixtures, assembly aids, cells and production lines, developing work instructions and supporting quality with inspection methods and procedures as needed. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Creates or modifies documentation and establishes standard procedures and work instructions for the fabrication and build of the product.
* Works with the production team in a "hands-on" fashion, supporting the build of product and communicating design deficiencies and or recommendations for simplification to the design teams
* Develop Bills of operation (routings) for all products including time studies and efficiency evaluations
* Primary support for Vendors or sub-contract partners with manufacturing or Quality issues
* Primary lead on insourcing, outsourcing or resourcing activities.
* Problem solving in any manufacturing issues

Education and Experience Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering

Skills and Abilities

* Strong problem solving ability
* Proficient in the design and implementation of work instructions and quality control procedures.
* Proficient in Solidworks and/or other drawing packages desired.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
* Experience with ERP systems Oracle/SAP etc is helpful
