Clearstaff in Chicago is currently in need of Maintenance Mechanics for a customer located in the Chicago area, the Mechanic will perform preventative Maintenance & Emergency repairs to all packing machinery, striving to improve equipment reliability & quality, as part of the maintenance team. Hours: will be training on 1st shift 5:30AM-2PM , once training is complete you will transfer to 2nd shift 1PM-11PM. Pay rate: $25-$30 per hour Duties and Responsibilities: • Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communicate with incoming shifts. • Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment. • Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment. • Ability to work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd’s, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc. • Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required. • Read schematics and blueprints to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic issues to properly and safely repair. • Perform repairs and upgrades of the machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation. • Install electronic parts and hardware, using soldering equipment and hand tools • Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed. • Communicate regarding issues and problems solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns. • Perform electrical and distribution lock out/ tag out method steady with customary safety protocol. • Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance supervisor to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders • Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor. • Participate in overtime assignments as required. Mechanic is required to supply their own hand tools and a lockable toolbox. • Working in a general manufacturing environment. • Perform various other similar and related duties as required by the Plant Manager. Qualifications: • Experience in equipment maintenance • Experience with Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electrical • Ability to withstand wet, cold (35-40F), humid and hot environments, Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, stand for extended hours, • Must be able to climb ladders, • Must be able to move heavy objects. • Must have experience with the following machines: Tiromat packaging machines & Drake Loaders • Meat processing facility knowledge. 5 plus years’ experience preferred.All qualified candidates please submit copy of resume for review, any questions regarding positions please call directly (773)545-8400.
