About the position
Shoals USG is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the day-to-day operation of our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of industrial equipment critical to production, including conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and more. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Full benefits are available starting day one.
Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running efficiently.
• Troubleshoot issues with pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and other industrial machinery using diagrams, schematics, manuals, and technical specs.
• Accurately complete work orders and documentation in the plant's maintenance system.
• Safely operate hand and power tools, welding equipment, cranes/hoists, rigging gear, and fall protection systems.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to support production needs and resolve mechanical issues.
• Take an active role in plant safety programs and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by following all housekeeping standards.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or shift adjustments as production needs require.
Requirements
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience performing industrial maintenance or repair work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, diagrams, and manuals.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include heights, tight spaces, and varying temperatures.
• Physically able to climb stairs/ladders, lift tools or parts, and perform tasks that may be physically demanding.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to working assigned schedules.
• Must provide and maintain a personal set of tools as outlined in the operator rate program.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
