Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). This role involves assisting patients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Key Responsibilities Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Help patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding. Turn, position, and transfer patients as needed. Monitoring Patient Health Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff. Maintaining a Safe Environment Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of patient areas. Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures. Communication Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare staff, conveying patient concerns and needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program. Certification Current state certification as a nursing assistant. CPR certification preferred. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Working Conditions Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients. May require working long hours, including weekends and holidays. Exposure to various healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and home care environments.
