Business Intelligence Analyst
Role
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for ensuring that, in partnership with key stakeholders, illustrations of data are accurate, timely, and represent the departments drive to support members needs through service that is highly related to their desires and requirements. Combines advanced analytical expertise, knowledge of the financial industry, and programming skills to research, collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets from internal and external sources to develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges. Integrates and prepares large, varied data sets, designs specialized data and computing environments and communicates results in a way that can be easily understood by business counterparts.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: At least 3 - 5 years previous work experience in analytics and modeling environments of the financial or marketing industry.
Working knowledge of Enterprise Level Business Intelligence reporting tools such as SSRS, Tableau, Cognos, and database development required.
Working knowledge of web-based development required (e.g. may include any of Power BI, Python, SQL Reporting, JavaScript, C++, PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, Visual Basic, etc.)
Working knowledge of basic algebraic and financial equations and formulas is required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office macros (or Visual Basic) preferred as well as advanced Excel
Education/Certifications/Licenses: BA/BS in Mathematics or Statistics or BA/BS in business, finance, or related field with coursework in marketing and statistics.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions and make business recommendations using well-developed oral and written communication skills including the writing of executive reports.
Other Skills
Familiarity with coding languages like Python, Java, or R is often sought after in job listings.
Extensive knowledge of MS Office Products, i.e. Access, Excel, Word.
Expertise in Relational Database Software. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of databases (i.e. MSSQL, Oracle, Access).
Highly proficient in marketing database management.
Highly proficient in statistical analysis techniques.
Highly proficient in statistical software, including SPSS.
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of financial institution systems, including core processing, job scheduling, and data sets.
Ability to manipulate, query, and analyze large quantities of data and present it in simple, insightful, actionable summaries for a diverse audience.
Ability to create and organize reports that synthesize complex information.
Ability to create and effectively create and present relevant and readable graphs, charts, presentation materials, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals for a diverse audience.
Ability to research, read, analyze and interpret financial reports, procedure manuals, business periodicals and professional journals.
Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts verbally, including presentations to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
