OverviewThis internship program is designed for participants from The VCU Rehabilitation Research and Training Center. Altria is currently seeking interns to join our Company in a 12-week Program, from October 1st, 2024, to December 20th, 2024. Upon successful completion of the internship, there may be an opportunity for part-time conversion. Job Description: Altria is currently seeking an Inventory Control Assistant to join the team at the Manufacturing Center. In this role youll have the opportunity to help shape the future and influence our industry in our ever-changing landscape. During the internship, youll experience on-the-job training, access to a diverse group of mentors, and professional development opportunities. Interns will be challenged and empowered to participate in the following:
- Perform inventory control audits and update SAP reflecting the accurate inventory.
- Conduct investigations and perform corrective action as inventory issues are discovered.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with cycle count for annual audit.
- Collect and report metric, process/system controls and effectiveness checks required for inventory control.
- Locate, gather, and prepare materials for maintenance
- Maintaining and building investigation skills through ongoing training and education.
- Participating in inspection readiness activities and support audits/inspections.

- Check how many parts we have and make sure the computer system matches.
- Find out why there are differences between the number of parts we have and what number is in the system.
- Follow the rules for counting and checking our tools and supplies every year.
- Collect and report information that shows how well we are managing our parts.
- Get the materials ready for the people who fix and maintain our equipment.
- Learn new skills and ways to investigate problems with our tools and parts.
- Help us get ready for inspections and audits.

Rate: $15 an hour, 15-20 hours a week Schedule: Between 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday. The exact schedule will be confirmed during the interview. It will remain consistent each week.
