Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY – Internship will provide knowledge and experience with ACAD and Solid Works. Work will be 50% in office and 50% on the shop/manufacturing floor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Be self-motivated to learn internal operations related to Industrial Engineering.
- Provide general assistance and support within department.
- Report progress to immediate supervisor throughout length of internship.
- Make suggestions to leadership for streamlining systems and processes.
- Independently manage workload of project(s) assigned.
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers.
- Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be willing to work in shop or manufacturing environment at times.
- Mechancially inclined with hands on experience in welding preferred.
- Metal fabrication, assembly and/or 6S knowledge or experience preferred.
- Basic hand tool knowledge.
- Must be willing to work alone at times and in a team environment on projects.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Students pursuing a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field.
Experience: No experience necessary; general knowledge of the field preferred.
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office.
