About this role The current vacancy in this to 10:30 p.m Under general supervision

The current vacancy in this classification is assigned to work the evening shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Under general supervision, inspects, maintains, repairs, and services heavy road and bridge maintenance and construction equipment; uses diagnostic equipment to inspect and locate mechanical difficulties; performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives general supervision from assigned supervisory or management personnel. Exercises no direct supervision of staff.The job functions listed below are not inclusive or exclusive and are intended only as illustrations or examples of the various types of work that may be performed in various divisions/departments.

Types of work performed shall be within the scope and licensure (if required) for the classification. Reasonable accommodation will be made when requested and determined by the County to be appropriate under applicable law.

Required Skills & Experience Knowledge of Principles, practices, methods, equipment, materials, Modern equipment and communication tools

would be: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by specialized vocational training in heavy and construction equipment repair and two (2) years of experience in performing skilled maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment
Principles, practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in overhaul repairs, including a wide variety of heavy road and bridge maintenance and construction equipment
A typical way to obtain the required
Knowledge of
Ability to

Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to the work performed
Inspect, locate, correct, or adjust malfunctions or defects in complex repairs needed for all systems in diverse range of heavy road and bridge maintenance and construction equipment
Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying
