Job Description

Brief Position Description

  • Implement education programs - including school field trips, homeschool classes, adult education programs, and education events - in outdoor settings
  • Set up before and clean up after education programs
  • Complete other projects as necessary depending on interest and abilities of the individual Guadalupe Guide

Candidate Qualities
  • Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Has the ability to facilitate programs outdoors for at least 3 hours
  • Willingness to speak in front of large groups and groups of all ages
  • Completes a satisfactory background check and provides proof of a negative TB test prior to start; job-related training required after start. A conviction history will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from appointment.

Compensation
Starting salary is $20.00/hour with a potential increase to $21.00/hour following successful completion and review of training period that varies in length according to the guide, their availability, and program schedules. Bilingual hires will receive a pay rate of $21.25/hour - $22.25/hour.
This is a part-time, unbenefited, and non-exempt position offering a variable schedule. Field trip season peaks in the fall and spring with limited hours available during the winter and summer.
