Hourly rate: $18-$25

Location: 50 S Main St, Mount Angel, OR 97362

Schedule: This is a Full-time position. The Senior Living facility will be open Monday-Sunday and you will need to have open availability to work weekends and Holidays.

Job Specific Duties

  • Ensure all food is produced in high quality, timely and consistent manner to meet all menu and customer standard
  • Ability to develop rapport with your team and the residents while upholding the values and mission of Thomas Cuisine
  • Set up and stocked food orders with all necessary supplies
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products in the station or walk-in cooler properly
  • Prepare the food before every meal to get ready to cook
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Follows proper techniques and proper presentation of all dishes
  • Practices correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations
  • Maintains positive, respectful, professional approach, communication, and workplace conduct with customers and team
  • Reports all unsafe working conditions, operational needs, and equipment or aspects of the kitchen in of repair to management

What you will need

  • Walk and stand during the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to interact and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, team members and guests
  • ServSafe® Certification is preferred
  • Food Handlers Card are required
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization.
  • We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Positive attitude
  • Wiling to work in a senior living environment with residents with different dietary restrictions.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation.
