GLORY HOUSE JOB DESCRIPTION

NON-EXEMPT

POSITION: PART TIME- DRUG DETECTION SPECIALIST

PURPOSE: Uphold Glory House Mission statement in carrying out daily operations of the program. Maintain and enforce all Glory House guidelines, policies, and procedures. Monitor drug and alcohol surveillance of residential clients and assigned outpatient clients. Oversee the completion of client’s drug screenings. Exhibit and ability to work with clients with multi-faceted issues in a caring and empathetic manner

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Compliance Manager

The following is required:

Prefer bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Substance Abuse, or other Human Services field preferred. High school diploma/GED and related experience in supervision of juveniles or adults in a correctional setting are also considered.

Knowledge of drug and alcohol screening tools.

SKILLS: Fluent in English language written and verbal.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate skills in computer operations, and computer programs such as Word and Excel. CPR certified.

WORK SCHEDULE: Shifts will include weekdays Monday through Friday evenings between 6:00pm-10:30pm. Longer shifts as needed to assist when full-time DD staff are on vacation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Administer alcohol and drug screenings by administering breathalyzer, urinalysis, mouth swabs and sweat patch applications for residential and outpatient clients.
  2. Provide reports through written or verbal communication of client’s behaviors or observation as well as drug and alcohol results to staff, and referral agents; written communication will be documented on appropriate forms.
  3. Ensure chain of command is followed for all evidence related to drug and alcohol collections; adhere to policies and procedures for specific details in collection and reporting process.
  4. Follow Universal Precaution.
  5. Uphold the Drug Detection rules and regulations for all testing equally
  6. Records are maintained in an orderly manner through chronological method.
  7. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  8. Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty pounds.
  9. Attend all required training courses in-house and related to specific duties.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist in room searches, pocket searches, phone searches and vehicle searches if necessary.
  2. Assist with all house searches when requested.
