About this role

The Director of Academic Support and Disability Services is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and delivery of student disability services and academic support programs. This position combines direct service delivery with oversight of services that promote student access, persistence, and academic success.

Reporting to the Vice President of Student Experience, the Director manages student disability accommodations, ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The role involves overseeing academic support services, including tutoring, testing accommodations, and library services, to reduce barriers to student success.

Location: Nelsonville campus; not eligible for telework.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely implementation of accommodations in coordination with faculty and staff
  • Develop procedures related to accommodation requests and service delivery
  • Review documentation and determine appropriate academic accommodations
  • Provide guidance to faculty and staff on accommodation implementation
  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of student disability services
  • Oversee academic support services, including tutoring and testing support
  • Manage the interactive process for students requesting accommodations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and accommodation processes in a postsecondary setting
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodation management systems
  • Experience collaborating with faculty and providing training
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 1-3 years of experience in disability services, academic support, or related field
  • Experience determining and implementing academic accommodations
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Experience supervising staff or coordinating programs
