Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Landscaper to support our Operations team in the meticulous upkeep and continuous enhancement of our retreat grounds and facilities. This individual will play a crucial role in troubleshooting and resolving all maintenance-related issues promptly and effectively, ensuring every detail contributes to an exceptional guest experience at all times.

The ideal candidate is not only highly organized and dependable but also brings a personable and proactive attitude to the team. As an approachable and self-motivated professional, you should be eager to take initiative and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of landscaping excellence. Your passion for travel and enthusiasm for what we are building will be essential as you collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and pristine environment for all guests.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine landscape maintenance and groundskeeping tasks to ensure neat and attractive outdoor areas.
• Identify, diagnose, and solve landscaping and maintenance issues, employing effective problem-solving skills.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other team members to implement new landscaping projects and enhancements, contributing creative ideas for improvements.
• Assist in the planning and execution of seasonal landscaping strategies to address plant care, pest control, and aesthetic design.
• Communicate regularly with management and other departments to ensure alignment with the overall mission of the retreat and address any guest concerns related to the grounds.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Must have a passion for working and being in the outdoors--this position is very "hands-on"!
• 2+ years experience in grounds and/or building maintenance and repair or related field in the hotel, hospitality, customer service and/or outdoor adventure industry
• 1+ years experience in light carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or landscaping
• Exceptional problem-solving skills; able to quickly troubleshoot and create solutions with the resources at hand in an outdoor, sometimes unpredictable, environment
• Strong team player who is willing to go the extra mile to deliver great service to both our guests and team members
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well with co-workers
• Approachable, presentable and professional; a hard worker with a positive, can-do attitude

Requirements for Employment:

• Fluent in English
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally, 40+ lbs
• Willingness to work various shifts, including long and sometimes erratic hours

Compensation & Perks:

• Hourly rate: $24.03 per hour
