About this role Responsible for development of demand understanding demand and determining accurate forecasts for

Responsible for development of demand plans for assigned categories, understanding demand, and determining accurate forecasts for various aspects. Accountable for purchasing, tracking Purchase Order execution, and ensuring inventory distribution from DCs to stores.

Support the company's long-term strategy and inventory reduction while maintaining high Customer Service Level metrics. Develop initial forecast modeling based on historical data and causal factors.

Review merchandising plans, meet with category managers, and discuss key in-stock and inventory issues with supply planners
Identify and resolve out-of-stock issues, work with vendor base, and utilize system-generated reports for decision-making
Provide input into S&OP supply planning process and collaborate with DC and Transportation

Work with vendors and Category Managers in determining new item forecasts and creating supply chain facing sales forecasts
Evaluate impact of promotional strategy on the forecast and make recommendations to meet margin and profit goals
Create merchant-facing forecasts at various levels and collaborate with merchandising via S&OP process
Develop initial forecast modeling based on historical data and causal factors

Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree and at least Experience in negotiating operational aspects Knowledge of inventory management practices

Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in retail/wholesale planning OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 4 years of experience in retail/wholesale planning
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes
Knowledge of inventory management practices and definitions
Master's degree in supply chain or MBA

Experience in negotiating operational aspects of business and understanding their impact on in stocks, inventory, and costs
Experience using time and project management skills, analyzing data, and identifying operational issues
Supply Chain/Logistics Certification - P.Log, CSCMP or APICS
Previous experience in an S&OP environment
