Customer Service Rep - Ambulatory Surgery - Full Time - Days

Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, youll obtain demographic details and insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. Youll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.

This is a full-time position at NYP/Lower Manhattan Hospital working Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm. No weekends or holidays.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Some college education

  • Medical Assistant, Coding, Billing, or Medical Office training

  • Prior experience in public and customer service

  • Previous experience in healthcare setting

  • Previous experience in Health Information Management

  • Bilingual (Spanish-English)

  • Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and possibly Fukinese)

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of insurance and third party billing

  • Good decision making and strong customer service skills

  • Ability to apply diplomacy in dealing with customer service related issues

  • Ability to multi-task

Salary Range:

$26.31-$28.55/Hourly
