Job Summary
This is a Community Service Work Study student employment position. Applicants must have Federal Work Study funds in their Financial Aid package. The Archives Management (AM) intern will handle and digitize historical records. Historical records are found in paper formats, while others are already available digitally. Digital records will be optimized, meaning that metadata or tags will be properties of the digital records. The AM intern will work to include both metadata and tags in such records. The initial step involves finalizing the digital transformation of paper records, followed by the careful curation of the digitized content. These records are confidential and must remain on city premises. Therefore, this position is in-person, and remote work is unavailable. No experience in records management is needed. Training on software applications, editing tools, and technical equipment will be provided, and there will be opportunities to attend training sessions or workshops on diverse subjects. Schedule: at least two 6-hour workdays. Preferably, Monday and Fridays. If desired, flexibility to work the remaining hours throughout the rest of the week. Location: The Portland Building at 1120 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have Federal Work Study fund in Financial Aid Package (contact finaid@up.edu with questions). Demonstrate organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Be able to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate the ability to work independently.

Open to all majors Records management serves as the foundation for careers in technology, law, real estate; library sciences, education, business, and government.
