Job Description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair seeking a Contracts and Pricing Analyst who will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the Contract and Pricing department. Work under minimal supervision with latitude to use initiative and independent judgment. May direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time.

Job Duties

  • Works with Supply and Marketing groups to prepare contracts and set up customers with the goal of helping the Commercial group sell products at the highest possible netbacks
  • Manages customer set ups by working with a cross functional team, including credit, tax, and accounting, by clearly explaining objectives, leading the process through completion, and regularly communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Ensures all Company contracts and prices are accurate, complete and delivered in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with scheduling, billing, and accounting groups to ensure invoices are prompt and accurate
  • Identifies potential problems and takes initiative to prevent them, thereby avoiding potential sales issues and ensuring a positive, seamless customer experience
  • Uses judgement to independently analyze customer issues as they arise and propose and implement timely solutions by applying general knowledge of contracts and prices policies and procedures
  • Acts quickly to prepare any back office set up needed to keep customers supplied in response to market opportunities or refinery issues
  • Develops expertise with various forms of software, including internal SAP modules and external terminal and pricing software, including Deal Capture, DTN TABS, Atlas, and our Customer Portal
  • May assist with development and maintenance of marketing reports that provide valuable information to the Commercial group about upcoming contract expiration dates for use in contract renegotiation
  • Develops and documents policies and procedures for contract and pricing group and identifies opportunities to improve accuracy, communication, and/or timeliness of work
  • Communicates effectively and e ensures positive and productive working relationships are maintained with both internal counterparts and external customers
  • Provides back up support, training and direction to other contracts and pricing staff as needed.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of zero to four years of related experience.

Preferred Experience

Experience in the Petroleum industry.

Education Level

A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills

Ability to apply advanced clerical and data entry skills to assignments based on pre-established guidelines. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including but not limited to MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel. Strong working knowledge with the mechanics of a contract and pricing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written & verbal communication, as well as basic understanding of computer use. Intermediate reading and writing skills and the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations. Knowledge of trade locations and SAP navigation. Advanced ability to implement new systems and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness.

Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, and perceiving color differences. Job conditions may require standing, walking, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling.
