Energy Department

In this newly created department, the Energy Department is dedicated to managing and optimizinge Energy department plays a critical role in ensuring our operations are environmentally responsible, cost-effective, and resilient to energy market fluctuations. The team focuses on energy procurement, renewable energy integration, and the implementation of advanced energy management practices.

Position Overview

This role is based on-site in Denver, CO in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Contract Originator to join our legal and procurement team. The Contract Originator will be responsible for initiating, drafting, and negotiating contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and other key legal documents. This role requires a strong understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that contracts are aligned with the company’s goals and legal standards.

Essential Job Functions

Contract Initiation and Drafting:

  • Initiate, draft, and prepare contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, purchase orders, and other legal documents.

  • Ensure that all contracts meet company standards, comply with applicable laws, and align with organizational objectives.

Negotiation and Execution:

  • Lead contract negotiations with vendors, service providers, and other third parties to secure favorable terms and conditions.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, assess risks, and ensure that all contracts meet the company’s needs.

Legal Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant legal requirements and industry regulations.

  • Identify potential legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate those risks in contract terms and conditions.

Collaboration and stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, procurement, finance, and operations, to gather input and ensure contract terms are understood and agreed upon by all parties.

  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related issues and best practices.

Contract Administration and Management:

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all contracts, agreements, and related documents.

  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, and manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations as needed.

Process Improvement and Best Practices:

  • Continuously review and improve contract management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Develop and implement best practices for contract origination, negotiation, and management.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present reports on contract status, key metrics, and any issues that may arise during the contract lifecycle.

  • Ensure proper documentation of all contract activities and decisions.

Additional Duties:

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field is .

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or a related role.

  • Experience in negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts, preferably in the data center, construction, or technology industries.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial terms.

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Initiative-driven with a focus on achieving results.

  • 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
