Job Summary

Provide test administration and test support services.

Essential Functions

Administer and monitor a variety of tests to include state, national, and institutional. Ensure security of test materials. Verify eligibility and identity of testing applicants. Troubleshoot computer equipment and software.

Process tests using computerized scanning and scoring equipment. Maintain departmental testing files, prepare testing data for entry to the management information system, and retrieve data from mainframe system and compile statistical reports.

Answer telephones, schedule appointments, greet test clients, provide information and materials, and answer questions. Operate office and computer equipment, perform data processing and maintain record databases using a variety of computer software programs. Publicize testing information including schedules.

Provide guidance to less experienced testing personnel or work studies. Inventory and distribute testing materials and supplies. Maintain computerized inventory databases and testing suspense files.

Perform other duties as assigned.

4. Highly effective computer skills and ability to troubleshoot basic problems encountered in a computerized testing environment.

Special Conditions:

1. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.


2. The El Paso Community College is building a pool of Applicants for part-time staff positions. This pool will be accessed when an opening arises. Your application will remain active for approximately one (1) year from July 2024 to June 2025. After this time, you will need to re-apply if you are still interested in remaining a part of the pool.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
