THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking seasonal Clerical Assistant 2s to perform clerical duties for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) administered by the Allegheny County Assistance Office (CAO). Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment
  • This is a non-permanent, full-time seasonal position with the LIHEAP program. Seasonal employment runs from approximately October to April but employment may begin as early as September and last until June.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
  • Multiple work locations:
    • Warner Center, 332 5th Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
    • Greater Pittsburgh East, 5947 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206
    • Southeast District, 220 Sixth Street, McKeesport, PA 15132
    • Work location placement will be based upon operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Work conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with district offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $18.05 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
