Job Summary

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Career & Transfer Services Department. Promote, solicit, and document professional and career opportunities for current students and graduates with the El Paso Community College District system.

Essential Functions

Assess, refer, and inform students regarding professional and career opportunities. Provide technical support to students and employers using Career & Transfer Services computer programs such as Career Corner.

Research and identify academic and professional placement leads, schedule appointments, contact businesses, and promote opportunities to students and faculty. Review and ensure that employers provide proper documentation for eligibility to post job listings and seek resume referrals. Coordinate with academic departments to build academic and professional recruiting schedules to meet students requests.

Develop and conduct Career & Transfer Services related workshops, seminars, trainings and activities. Organize and coordinate educational recruitment visits, job and career fairs, interview schedules, local and out-of-town Career Services related visits.

Administer various Career & Transfer Services plans and procedures. Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and outcome of department services in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches to improving efficiency of department and services provided.

Compile data, prepare and submit reports. Prepare correspondence and maintain files and records. Answer phones, schedule appointments, respond to questions and refer students to proper college offices as appropriate.

Perform other duties as assigned.

2. Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written).

3. Experience conducting presentations and workshops.

4. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

5. Ability to produce new, imaginative, or innovative solutions.

6. Ability to exercise effective problem solving, public contact, and customer service techniques.

7. Efficient computer skills and experience managing databases.

Special Conditions:



2. The El Paso Community College is building a pool of Applicants for part-time staff positions. This pool will be accessed when an opening arises. Your application will remain active for approximately one (1) year from July 2024 to June 2025. After this time, you will need to re-apply if you are still interested in remaining a part of the pool.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.
