To learn more about World View, visit www.worldview.space. Job DescriptionAt World View we have an opening for a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team as a contract employee. You will be working on procurement, supplier management, contracts, and negotiations in a fast-paced cross-functional environment. You will play a key role in supporting our efforts as we expand our Remote Sensing and Space Tourism initiatives. Role Responsibilities· Develop and issue Requests for Quotations· Purchase raw materials, parts, assemblies, equipment, supplies, and services at the best total cost of acquisition for the company· Identify savings opportunities, assets, build action plans, form strategies and performance plans to improve KPI’s· Review open order status, and incorporate changes (e.g. expediting, reducing, increasing, canceling) as they occur· Continuously improve lead-times and smooth material flow· Establish strong relationships with key suppliers· Act as a value-added intermediary between vendors and internal customers to resolve economical, quality, design, and schedule issues, to satisfy World View customers· Communicate priorities and schedule changes to suppliers as needed to support changes in production requirements· Actively contribute to the Supply Chain plan execution and goals achievement· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for existing and new products · Proactively report and provide updates to management on critical supply issuesResolve supplier billing and payment issues in cooperation with Account PayablesAll other duties as assigned Qualifications5+ years of Procurement experience5+ years Aerospace/ Defense Supply Chain experience· Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional settings with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programs, Finance, and Quality· General knowledge of FAR/DFARS Government Procurement regulation· General knowledge of FAA Requirements Please note that this is a temporary/contract role and not a direct hire opportunity.
