If you just said yes to all of the above, you might be our next Build-A-Plumber- Install candidate! Classes start March 30!! What is Build-A-Plumber? It’s a fun name for a fun plumbing program! Basically, you’ll be training to become a plumbing installer for Morris-Jenkins. You don’t need any plumbing experience, and we’ll even pay you during training (starting at $18\hr through training). Your Role • Observe and assist in plumbing installations, which include water, sewer, and gas lines, water heaters, tankless water heaters, and water filtration systems • Provide excellent customer service while properly addressing customer issues and ensuring effective, long-term problem resolution You'll Make Money... a Lot of Money Plumbing is one of the highest paid trades in America! Not only that, but pay for plumbers is more consistent than pay for HVAC technicians, and the room for growth is even better! We have the best plumbers around, and we have the best pay around! Our Installers can expect to make around $53,000 in their first year. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the person is frequently required to move about at customers’ homes inside tight crawlspaces and ascend/descend ladders lifting one’s own bodyweight through narrow entrances into attics. Must be able to identify and inspect equipment, parts, and colored wiring to safely test, repair, and install electrical connections with precise hand-eye motor skills. • Individuals must be able to deadlift 90 pounds to a height of three feet or greater. This includes lifting and/or carrying materials required to fulfill the responsibilities of a drain specialist. This may include but is not limited to items such as toilets and drain cabling machines. • Individuals must be able to hold and extend proper drain machines weighing at least 25 pounds for an extended time when applicable. Mental Demands: Must be able to perceive and distinguish emotions, as well as deal with adversarial confrontations. Requires an ability to concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks at once. Conscious attention to detail is required to safely perform tasks. Work environment: Frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and other hazards such as electrical shock, sharp objects, poisonous animals, etc. This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy. • Valid local driver’s license with acceptable driving & criminal background record • Abstinence from drugs with clean drug screening results • Reliable and punctual attendance • Commitment to company values • Must have required hand tools Morris-Jenkins is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
