Barbering Instructor, part-time
Job Description
Carteret Community College is seeking highly qualified applicants for a part-time Barbering Instructor in the Corporate & Continuing Education Division. This candidate must accommodate a flexible schedule to include working evenings and Saturdays. The hourly rate of pay will be determined based on experience. The Barbering Instructor will be responsible for the program and presenting instruction in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Barber Examiners. The instructor will educate, motivate, mentor, and coach all students in their technical and guest service skills, and create extraordinary learning experiences in the clinic classroom.
Duties include:
- Maintain program certification requirements and upkeep of school requirements
- Properly maintain records of student attendance and grades
- Administer and grades class examinations
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Prepare curriculum and syllabus for coursework
- Submit required student documentation to the North Carolina Board of Barber Examiners
- Submit monthly timesheets and documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
The applicant must possess a NC Barbers license and Instructors License, with a minimum of 5 years of experience and excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills.
Physical Demands: Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
