Assistant Buyer - 6 month contract position
Fort Collins, CO
Pay: $29 - $31/hour


POSITION SUMMARY:
Administratively assists the NPI and Commodity buyers in operational, systemic and procedural aspects of the materials management process for assigned products or commodities. Assists buyers in contacting vendors to obtain prices, delivery dates, and order expediting. Prepares standard requests for quotation, pricing revisions, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies. Responsible to provide optimum effectiveness and efficiency in customer service to support the organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare purchasing paperwork such as reschedule report, open order report, past due, and open quote report as directed by buyers and materials management personnel.
  2. Identify and communicate any purchasing issues or problems with delivery/ pricing discrepancy
  3. Assist materials group with updating dashboard metrics
  4. Facilitates RMA requests for discrepant material. Perform cost analysis/comparison from supplier to supplier part to part. Maintain material master, info record and source list accuracy.
  5. Follow-up with suppliers as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC copier, fax machine etc.)

SKILLS:
  1. Ability to work in a fast paced environment; juggling simultaneous demands for attention.
  2. General understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), planning functions, shop floor processes and materials.
  3. Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry and experience with PC applications such as SAP, Word, Excel and other related database software.
  6. Strong problem solving skills.

EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
BS degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Science, or equivalent education and / or experience.

Desirable:
Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) coursework.
