KyCAD would like to announce a new position in the capacity of Part-time Assistant Professor of Visual Art for a three-week course taking place December 2, 2024 - December 23, 2024, Session 3 (Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm AND 1:30 pm - 5pm). This position is open to Internal and External applications.
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Dean/VPAA, the Adjunct Lecturer would have the opportunity to instruct STU 492, a special topics course focused on the Center of the Story.
Compensation: Salary: $4,000 per 3 credit course
Course Description:
STU 492 - Special Topic: The Personal is Political: Digital Media and Social Change
3 credits
This course is designed to allow students to use digital media as a vehicle for exploring a topic related to social change. Classes will focus on a series of small-scale projects that encourage experimentation with the various tools for production (moving image + sound + editing software). Simultaneously, students will screen work by a variety of artists and research a topic of interest related to social change to create a final project of 5 minutes or less. Work may be experimental, journalistic/documentary or scripted narratives.
