Overview:
We are excited to welcome a new member to our Finance & Accounting team! You will thrive in this role if you possess strong administrative/detail tracking skills, have proven experience reviewing customer contracts, mastering software systems such as Quickbooks and Unanet, and have experience in basic accounting and purchasing tasks. In addition to your experience with straight-forward and thorny contracts, youll bring to the team your hands-on experience performing basic accounting, purchasing and invoicing tasks, and a special talent for improving processes and increasing efficiency. Youll utilize your exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail every day.

Nuts & Bolts:
  • Compensation: $26 - 28/hr
  • Location: On-site in Ann Arbor, MI, with occasional flexibility to work from home from time to time.

Responsibilities:

Commercial Contracts Administration:
  • Perform commercial contracting activities, including proposal preparation, review, compliance, and administration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial client purchasing teams, including government agencies and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Work with our Program and Project Managers to monitor contract performance, deliverables, and milestones to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
Accounting and Accounts Receivable:
  • Execute administrative AR activities, including billing, collections, and customer communication.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and improve collections if needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and other issues affecting accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of related financial transactions, invoices, and payments, in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting and/or contract administration
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, including billing and invoicing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as NetSuite, Unanet and Quickbooks, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high level of adaptability, resilience, and attention to detail.
  • Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
