Job Summary:
The Electrician’s primary function is to travel to the site for enclosure installation and warranty issues. Duties will include but not be limited to: installing, test, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls based on technical drawings, schematics, government regulations, and other documented specifications in a manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
1. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
2. Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, network and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
3. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
4. Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, electrical motors, generators, storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
5. Occasionally modify, maintain, test, and document PLC programs at a basic level.
6. Provide Engineering Department feedback on design improvements in the form of a written Engineering Change Request.
7. Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair for commissioning or warranty work on customer-finished products.
8. Maintain and repair office and plant electrical equipment, including documentation of maintenance plan and schedule.
9. Conduct cyclical inventory counts on electrical parts.
10. Keep abreast and comply with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) regulations and relevant codes and practices.
Job Specific Requirement/Knowledge/Experience:
1. Licensed Construction & Maintenance (309A) or Industrial (442) Electrician, preferably with an interprovincial ticket or red seal
2. Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
3. PLC Programming skills (basic level) would be considered an asset.
4. Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver's license.
5. Power & Energy/Oil & Gas experience in an electrical engineering environment is an advantage.
6. Sound control panel knowledge, conduit, and other cable management hardware skills.
7. Scheduling, documenting, and technical support to Engineers is an asset.
