Job Title: Sous Chef 24/7

Located in beautiful Black Hawk, CO, the Monarch Resort Spa seeks a passionate 24/7 Sous Chef to join our team! You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that exceeds the expectations of our guests and team.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the second in command in the kitchen, overseeing food production and assuming the Room Chef's duties in their absence.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, and managing kitchen staff; handle performance appraisals, rewards, and discipline.
• Propose menus and recipes, and systemize food production for efficiency and consistency.
• Enforce purchasing specifications, storeroom requisition, product storage, and waste control procedures.
• Train kitchen and service personnel in food production, preparation principles, and special dietary needs; assist in scheduling based on forecasts and budget.
Qualifications:
• Guest Service and Professionalism: Set high standards for customer service, using advanced industry knowledge to ensure consistency and quality.
• Communication: Maintain effective verbal and non-verbal communication with kitchen, front-end staff, and management; understand and follow written instructions with minimal guidance.
• Interpersonal Relationships: Adapt to various personalities with professionalism, avoiding conflicts and maintaining ethical standards.
• Problem Solving and Quality Control: Assess and improve practices, recognize and address conflicts, and enhance product and service quality.
• Conflict Management: Resolve issues with good judgment and tact, using mediation skills to handle conflicts and negotiate effectively.
• Flexibility and Knowledge: Work overtime as needed, assist with others' workloads, understand health and sanitation requirements, and be familiar with restaurant operations, computer/POS functions, and food handling standards.
