Job Description
Role- Data Scientist ContracttoHire (Energy Industry) Location: hybrid in Houston, TX We re seeking a Data Scientist with strong ML expertise and experience working with complex industrial or oil & gas datasets. You ll build models in Azure + Databricks, work through openended analytical problems, and communicate insights effectively to nontechnical audiences. Ideal candidates demonstrate leadership potential and interest in converting to fulltime. Key Responsibilities • Build and deploy ML models especially time series forecastingand NLP using Azure ML, Databricks, Spark, and MLflow. • Work through openended, ambiguous analytical problemswhere data quality, structure, or requirements may be unclear or evolving. • Explore, profile, and transform raw, messy datasets into structured, actionable insights. • Structure unstructured and semistructured data, including document parsing, text extraction, and metadata organization. • Design experiments, iterate rapidly, and test hypotheses in situations with partial or changing business requirements. • Communicate complex findings to nontechnical stakeholdersand collaborate with engineers and domain experts. Qualifications • 3+ years of data science experience with strong ML skills in time seriesand/or NLP. • Handson experience with Databricks (Spark, MLflow)and the Azure data/ML ecosystem. • Experience with oil & gasdata or similar industrial datasets. • Strong Python skills and expertise in data wrangling, EDA, and handling unstructured data (e.g., PDFs, logs, sensor data, documents). • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical work to nontechnical audiences. • Leadership mindset and willingness to convert to fulltime.Min Qualification
