Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Entry-Level) supports the service team by assisting with maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment. This role is ideal for someone with limited hands-on experience who is motivated to learn diesel and equipment repair under the guidance of experienced technicians.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of equipment while developing mechanical skills, safety awareness, and professional work habits in a team-oriented environment.
Position Responsibilities
• Assist senior technicians with servicing and repairing heavy equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Learn to diagnose basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Accurately complete work orders and service documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety rules and participate in maintaining a safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure high-quality repairs
• Demonstrate a strong desire to grow mechanical skills and knowledge
• Use tools and equipment properly and responsibly
• Follow service department dress code and company policies
• Maintain honesty, professionalism, and a positive attitude
Required Qualifications
• Willingness and eagerness to learn heavy equipment repair
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and work around heavy equipment
• Must pass background check at time of hire
