About the position
Under the general direction of the Facilities Engineering Management Team, performs duties associated with the inspection, installation, repair, replacement, modification and preventative maintenance of facility and plant, plumbing, piping, plant utility systems, pumps, and fire protection systems. Including, but not limited to, piping, plumbing, drainage systems, valves, traps, pumps, motors, compressors, fluid systems, medical gas systems and associated fixtures and devices. Works on complex problems which may involve the modification and partial redesign of a piece of equipment and or piping and fluid systems. Chemically treats all closed-loop cooling and heating systems. Maintains records, and prepares JCAHO required, systems testing and adheres to schedule for PM of equipment, systems, and procedures in compliance with applicable codes. Installs new equipment and piping systems meeting applicable codes.
Responsibilities
• Inspect, install, repair, replace, and maintain plumbing and piping systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility and plant utility systems.
• Modify and redesign equipment and piping as necessary.
• Chemically treat closed-loop cooling and heating systems.
• Maintain records and prepare JCAHO required systems testing.
• Adhere to schedules for preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Install new equipment and piping systems in compliance with applicable codes.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade/Vocational school training in Pipefitting, Plumbing, Fire Protection systems, and gas welding or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3 years of experience in installation, construction, repair, and maintenance of piping, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems preferred.
• Medical gas piping certification preferred.
• Journeyman Plumbers License preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with no record of moving violations in the past three years preferred.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in complex plumbing and piping systems.
• Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Good communication skills.
