Location: Kildare, Ireland Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: Competitive & negotiable, based on experience The Role We are seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design and develop software solutions primarily for agricultural machinery, with scope to expand into industrial automation and control systems. You will work closely with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical engineers, contributing to full system design—from concept through to commissioning. The role may also involve occasional travel within Europe to attend training programmes and technical sessions with our trusted suppliers and technology partners. This role offers significant variety, hands-on involvement, and the opportunity to influence product development from an early stage. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain software applications for agricultural machinery and control systems. • Develop and integrate software using CAN bus networks and associated communication protocols. • Support the design and implementation of ISOBUS-compliant solutions for agricultural equipment. • Collaborate with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver fully integrated systems. • Participate in system architecture, specification, and design reviews. • Assist with system testing, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including software documentation and system diagrams. • Support continuous improvement of existing systems and contribute to new product development. Requirements Essential • Proven experience in software development (embedded, application-level, or industrial systems). • Strong understanding of CAN bus communication and related protocols. • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and system diagrams. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Desirable • Experience with or knowledge of agricultural machinery or mobile equipment. • Familiarity with ISOBUS standards. • Exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic, or industrial automation systems. • Good knowledge of industrial and mobile sensors (e.g. pressure, position, temperature, flow) and experience integrating sensors into control and monitoring systems.
