It may not be what you're looking for, but on Android (via the F-Droid secondary app store) there's an app called Puzzles, by Simon Tatham. It has about 20ish simple games that scratch my itch for time-filler, along with Solitaire.
If you're okay with emulation there are probably GameBoy Advance games that fit. If you had every GBA rom it would take about 9 GB, but obviously you would reduce that

If Switch games count, then Clubhouse Games might scratch that itch for you. Somehow that's the most played game on my Switch...
Vector pinball and pixel dungeon (or any of the forks) are both good totally free games.

There are game preservation projects that collect classic games and typically provide them for free. For example Flashpoint Archive with 1760 GiB of Flash games (https://flashpointarchive.org/), or Kahvibreak with Java2 phone games (https://bluemaxima.org/kahvibreak/), or ExoWin3x with Windows 3.x collection (https://www.retro-exo.com/win3x_M.html).
